Friendly Betrayal

Vows of confident hues,
friendship in colorful assortment.
Loyalties made come true,
buddies with benevolent atonement.
Tiresome favors that accounts,
mere trivial pursuits and desire.
Loans surmount but grateful – still,
unending promises to aspire.
Secrets kept in mystic tongues,
through each other’s trust – deciphered.
Vanishing crowds in an open bar,
sealed these secrets – encountered.
Spoken actions to forever conceal,
yet, fate decided to uncover.
Truths that refuse to reveal,
all sharp but gentle reminders.

Ay wala pa, ang daya. oops. I mean I was wondering whether this poem was inspired by true events.

Makes me ponder on some lines: “Secrets kept in mystic tongues,
through each other’s trust – deciphered.”

    Compelling lines. Bravo!

Someone who used to be a friend, yet, now a mere stranger. i didn’t answer the question, did I?

I was trying originally going to use “…held from the hands of someone who was once a friend..” but opted to use “now strangers.” It would have been too long for that particular line, anyway, I hope it worked even after editing it.

Bingo! There will be no betrayal between strangers, after all. There has to be at the very least an element of trust, love, friendship for one to betray the other person. :)

Or it can be a castle in the air. Something wished for but rarely achieved.

I’m not an expert in betrayal. But to me friendship is often visited by betrayal. To find one that is unmarked by it is very rare. I can’t say true friendship cannot be had in this life. They can. But they’re so rare and precious.

I’m sure nobody wants to be an expert in that matter, it would be con

genuine, friendship will still be called “my precious” gift to the people I
extend a part of myself to.
