Four turns to rock city, this traveler went,
with jars full of colored candies and spices from shipments.
Trading wisdom and stories, these places never end,
exploring new territories, everywhere he’s a chosen friend.
Upon reaching the rainbow capital, this solid city surprised,
a sight of blue and tearful faces, this traveler sighed.
A crimson war left – lamented, his breath deep and bruised,
survivors now scattered, astray and confused.
Enormous orange monuments and iconic silver buildings,
lay on dirt – damaged, its black foundations weeping.
On salvation’s road laden with lavender lollipops – disarrayed,
children fell, sulking, weeping, and shouting – dismay.
This golden traveler too, felt bereaved and sad,
no children should witness these same anguish in the past, he had.
So, appeared was a brass wand that he reached out of his bag,
he chanted an ochre spell, the people flabbergasted.
At a dizzying gray speed, he pointed in indigo space,
dazzling psychedelic lights amused, as concentration bore his face.
Buildings resurrected, bridges and roads repaired,
all remedied, except, those who were already dead.
Tired and drained, this traveler felt after his magic,
the survivors who came near saw his afterglow – quite mystic.
A small hand gripped his too old and fragile hand,
and transferred his strength without the weary travelers command.
On salvation’s road laden with lavender lollipops,
a children’s camouflage army formed, voices shouting to the treetops.
This people – resilient from vicious foreign attacks,
now preparing for battle with a golden wizard at their backs.

Wow, this is just so amazing. The imagery is awesome. I think this is one of your best poems to date. I just love it so much.
@Jenn,
You are quick to the draw. Saw your comment while I was still making the final touches of this poem.
Thank you! It was an inspirational and challenging line as always.

I’m not good at Math – not good at measurements. Don’t know iambic even if hits me in the eye. So you still think I can write poetry?
Is there a painless way of learning it? You always threaten to teach me. Sige nga? Do your stuff nga, Lo? Will the road to learning poetry be littered as well with lavender lollipops? That might be interesting, methinks.
Got so dizzy with that pic bro, eheheh! I am not pretty sure if I am commenting on your comment form or I am on my blog’s comment form after that. It kinda left me some spell. LOL!

Gandalf? Merlin? Dumblebore? I am always amazed at wizardry and Wizards.
I like the story of this poem. Very nicely done. It’s like a short story within a poem. Way to go Z!

@Jena,
Thanks! I like all of those wizards too. I always play with the thought that Zorlone is actually a wizard.
