Hunting Season

After the kill
I roar from this bounty!
Triumph over a formidable prey.
This hunt bore a fruitful prize,
for hungry mouths that eagerly await.
The chase
Adrenaline peaked into an insane level,
as I leapt out of my hiding place!
Running toward a challenging arsenal,
this wind of a run on my face.
Stalking
I crept in silent gait – hidden,
nothing was missed, my senses sniffed.
A tremulous thought of primal talents,
hunting with nothing more than my gifts.
Detection
A distance asunder from my reward,
this need to feed the self and family.
Forewarned signs of a living beast,
braving the borders of my territory.

very nice descriptions, indeed! this reminds me of a poem i wrote in one of the issues of our science magazine… it’s about hunting and preys… hehehe… good work!
I love the picture!
wow! a reversed sequence!
just like having a flashback hehe… if I were the hunter, at least I would know what I did and I can replicate it
another great experiment Z!
Every scene reminds me of a character from movies, like Diego of Ice Age 3 and the tracker of Bella Swan
Reminds me of Apocalypto. Okay I got it backwards. The protagonist is of course the prey. Run, baby, run!
@Madz,
Cool! I also enjoyed Ice Age 3 and Twilight. It must be the animation in the former and the sci-fi thriller of the latter.

@Jan,
I have to google Apocalypto. The picture came in after the creation of the poem. I was thinking of something else actually.

I remember Zombies by Brady Frost. This is a different perspective too. The hunter now being the hunted as the hunted waits for the hunter.
The image reminds me of my childhood days when I used to go to Star City with my family to see those Dinosaurs.
Hah I liked the way you went backwards with this one. Although if a T-Rex was that poetic, I wonder what all the other dinos are thinking eh? xD
This is a beautiful new site you got; congrats!
@Jena,
You could say that. I was trying to look for that kind of picture but, wasn’t able to find one. But this one also worked.
@Wayne,
I was a Dino-nerd when I was younger. He he he. Always liked the prehistoric creatures. I thought I would have become an Archeologist.
@G
Yeah, a reversed sequence. Glad you made it here buddy!
