Curious Encounters

Crossing a deadly silent water,
like an anchor that immediately sunk.
A bottled fear was opened,
too late for a careless drunk.

Fiery glow of blue and white,
illuminated a seductive halo.
this flame gently licked a moth’s wings,
engulfed the life it once owned.

Fatal decision of Neo,
a red pill dug the rabbit’s hole,
ever prying, his story unfolded,
the Matrix was borne for us to know.

A scholarly endeavor,
to harness the power of electrons.
A kite flew with a metal key,
delivered a shock – withdrawn.

The mother of all curiosities,
Adam and Eve introduced.
The yearning to seek knowledge,
an apple betrayed the truth.

Deceitful eyes on a cat’s mischief,
ignored a rattling from its path,
A lightning struck with fangs.
this bite from a slithering wrath.

I wish I have the poetic sensibilities so I can fully express my hatred of leaves. LOL. They’re the most spoilsport in all of nature, methinks.

          Jan,

Remember that the leaves rot and will soon be out of view. The picture will be clearer then. ;)

I came back thrice, on different days, tried to comment, and would accidentally delete it. Tamang-tama, iisipin ko pa ang perception ko ng poem na ito. I don’t want to interpret this way out of the true meaning.

After an hour. Sana may connection pa noon.

Internet connection is still up and the typhoon has slowed down, thank God.

My first interpretation is that being curious without vigilance and prudence is dangerous. One should be wary of the unexpected if one has to embark on a research mission.

Second, curiosity would kill the cat…lol. I mean it is better to remain ignorant than to be curious and ending up being hurt or dead. What you don’t know, won’t hurt you.

And my final interpretation is that in every paradise we should watch out for snakes, those who might betray our trust and confidence.

Now, which on is correct Doc Z?

If Jan doesn’t have the poetic hate for the leaves, I do have the poetic love for REPLY buttons.

                          Finally.

Jhong & Doc Z: I changed my mind. It’s mystery I love and not the stark view. Leaves have their place in upping curiousity, healing a festering wound, giving momentary relief or high. Ooops, I hope nobody notices.

Are you okay, Doc Z? Every thing all right. I meant this not in the context of this poem.

                                  @Jan,

Don’t worry, Reyjr isn’t here, so no one would notice that you changed your mind about the leaves. I know the effects, after all, I’m a doctor for crying out loud. ;)

Things are looking great here on my side of the country. Sunny and Sunnier… but there are still parts that are flooded. I can’t even go to the badminton court today because the “taraflex” got wet. That reminds me, I have to call the court.
