Phone Number – A Flash Fiction (140 words)
10.07.09
“Call me!” shouted this handsome young man as Charity left the club with a loud techno music.
She folded the napkin where Ever scribbled his name and number. He was more like Jhong, her fiancé, but, not entirely. She missed him so much, that the very thought of his name brought painfully fond memories.
It wasn’t fair that Jhong left her a week before their wedding: she blamed her parents for not completely trusting him despite his efforts to win them over, she blamed herself for leaving him just for a few minutes, lastly, she blamed God for taking him before his time.
That was three years ago. She stopped blaming anyone else.
Before she started the car, she looked at the napkin one last time, then saved the number in her cell phone.
She drove home thinking of Ever.

And here's a blank cheque for installing disqus in your blog. Yes – FTW!
Conflict, remorse, loss and a promise of a new beginning in 140 words. I'm impressed! I'm sensing an appetite for this. Shall I say this is marvelous or splendid. I'm stumped.
Got that blank cheque! Will be using that to buy an uber web host and to publish my own book. he he he.
Good thing you claimed your avatar here.
You can experiment on one. Do you want to give it a try? Do I smell a guest post?
Z
Uh-oh – somebody is fishing in murky waters. Ahehehe. I hate to promise
anything, but I'd give it a serious thought. Pssst – I owe Elmot and Jaypee
and Holly and Jen. Hays, baka andyan na sila, I had better make my exit
already. Ahahaha
As a native of Malabon, I am not used to “fish” LJ. Here, we pick up bangus
or tilapia from the “baha” LOL. So, there's always a bounty of catch.
Z
I like your flash fictions, they're good and “meaty “- Indeed, you could publish your book of flash fictions too, Z. Nothing is impossible to a persistent person. You can do it.
I like this story better than the first because it has an air of optimism. For such a very brief story, that's already an achievement. Way to go!
As I've tweeted earlier, You did kill me this time! Lols! But I love it! Great work Doc Z.
I'm still on the bus but can't wait to comment here.
BTW, Disqus really looks great with your theme. The linkwithin too it gives flavor to your theme.
Speaking of guest post…. hmm Doc Z you owe me a guest post… Plzzzzz.
No problem pare! Will e-mail you that post.
Z
Jen,
I do hope that what we talked about would materialize. That will keep me excited for a long time. Well, at least until we can publish. he he he
Z
Jhong,
This is just fiction, you know that. I wouldn't want to kill you bro.
Yeah, Disqus does look good, doesn't it?
Z
Wow, nice story! Pero Doc Z, ayan ka na naman, may pinatay ka na namang character, LOL!
Thanks Madz!
Oo nga ano? he he he. Di bale, fiction lang naman yun e.
Z
Ahahaha. Madz, you're keeping body count? That's funny.
It will materialize, Z. Just keep that faith. Nothing is impossible.
Thanks Jen,
Your support is unfaltering.
Z
He he he, Jan, hindi ba 'yung una sa Night Duty namatay (o nabuhay) si Rey. Then everyone else follows sa mga succeeding stories ni Doc Z
Wow, Jan you got it right with Madz new found career here at Doc's FF posts…doing the body count of sad victims of literary creativity of our dear friend.
The dark side is in the works again, wahahahhaha!
I am just thankful I still ended up alive and kicking when he featured me on his FF, wahahha!

He he he…. The creative juices are more tasty in the dark side of writing.
Actually, I haven't totally crossed the border.
Z
Oh my god…my heart jumped into my throat when I read my name in that first line….oh my god… i HATE you!!!! So this is how you get back at me for “victimizing” you!!!! hahahahaha!

C,
You got me here. I thought you were going to throw something at me. This is how I return the favor of a blog award. I usually dedicate a poem or a story</>. I think this is more interesting to give because the characters, you, played a role in the story. It sort of gave some attributes behind the names.
Well, at least in my imagination. I hope you liked it.
Z
Elmot,
I am sure that the taste of dark chocolates would linger in your memory like a virgin on a honeymoon.
Z
How could anyone resist black chocolate that tastes like venue on honeymoon
night bro.
