My heart fell in pieces from my chest,
like meteor showers from the sky.
This pain experienced no rest,
when the only thought right now is – I.

Seven years of remembering,
our love letters wound my mind.
A time warp of cold sufferings,
no miracle healing may help subside.

Eclipses hid fond memories,
I embraced from another time.
The pleasure of your warm company,
was never alien, but never mine.

I chose to follow where you will go,
a lonely comet’s tail in the night.
Your trajectory engulfed,
my willing heart to sacrifice.

Until we meet again,
or until a supernova defined.
Threw a meteor shower of tears to amend,
this desolate man you left behind.

tsk tsk tsk… you need a date so badly… hehehe… i-date mo na kasi yung officemate ko… :P

  2. This flows so smoothly; it's so full of longing, and the imagery is so appropriate. It captures the heat and the cold of stars and romance, the brief light of a meteoric love affair, the cyclical nature of a comet and its fading trail. I like it.

    Hahaha! Wala akong ma comment!

  4. reyjr says:

OK Serious na – I thought your poem and Jhong's latest post were related – both talking about meteor showers. Turns out his was about DoTA and your was about well… Yatot knows. Hehe.

  5. Very sad, the mention of meteor shower invokes the image of the heavens crying for you.

  6. jhongmed says:

Ayaw nyan ng malapit gusto nyan malayo! Hehehe!

To be able to give oneself so freely and then have it gone. I love what Heather says about the heavens crying for you. But mostly I love the emotion your words invoke.

  8. jhongmed says:

Tsk tsk tsk, Oh boy! Doc Z broadcast our evil plans ? Bad Cheetah!

Anyways! There was slight change of flight plans that's why it turns-out Chaos Meteor instead the Meteor Shower! Lols! Look at the bright side, It hit page one with the Big G!

  9. yatot says:

Meteor Shower – reminds me of wishing sa falling stars; but meteor shower of tears, ang lonely naman ng mood.. Love this line:

“was never alien, but never mine”

    Holly,

I kept typing the first word of my reply to your comment but I kept erasing it. I was taken aback by the pleasurably positive words you left here.

    Thank you!

    Reyjr,

It's probably like that when it comes to friends, they end up having similar posts. It reminds me of DragonBlogger when he wrote his poem “Blue Lightning” which was the same title of my flash fiction in my other site. You can check out the link there, bro. ;)

Watching meteor showers make me feel that way, sad, lonely, and with a stiff neck, Heather. :D

    Anne,

Thanks! Some of the feelings of this poem matched the phenomenon in space. I just had to use them for inspiration.

    Jhong,

I just HATE it when THOSE kinds of women do things like this to men. And then girls like ME are left with a torn-up soul…we have to remake and rebuild the torn soul and pay the price that we're not supposed to be paying. The price that somebody else should be paying!

Remember…when somebody else comes along who loves you…don't make her pay for what THAT woman did to you. If you loved that woman once….love the next one EVEN MORE. THAT”S how you win!

The first verse makes a star sized impact. Really sank into my mind – good work.

    C,

You really are something. That was an angle of the poem that only YOU saw, or at least voiced out. Very good and sound advice, I would remember that. Thank you so much.
