Reunited in Heaven

Lolo and Lola

1101200922102219

Side by side of yellow and white,
forming inside, a cramped lovers plight.

Twenty one years of laughter and tears,
falling on fears of heavenly cheers.

A leaf landed on the ground, without a sound,
there was a lingering mound that can be found.

This poet’s muse of a bloodline – confused,
to rhyme adieus of sadly delivered news.

As the day ended with a candle lighted,
the memory of a departed sung this moment.

Up in heaven their souls have awakened,
these dearly beloved, have been reunited.

How beautiful. I spent a lot of time with my maternal grandparents when I was younger and miss them very much today. My grandfather was cremated in 1996. When my grandmother passed in 2001 they placed my grandfather's ashes in the casket with my grandmother and they were buried together. You reminded me of that. :)

Reunited in Heaven – ang sweet. I don't wanna die before my love one. Gusto ko ako ang mauna. I can't bear the pain :(

  5. So bittersweet. My grandmother outlived my grandfather by more than 20 years – something she never imagined she could do, the day he died. She would say things, now and then, and I would say to her, “He’ll wait.” I like to think of them reunited in Heaven. A lovely tribute poem, Z.

    Hi Anne,

My parents were both working when my sister and I were still small, so we spent a lot of memorable days with our grandparents. I think my butt muscles were toned from the lashings of my grandparents. LOL. Let’s just say, I wasn’t as fond of siestas when I was a kid than I am now. he he eh

    Mahirap siguro ano?

My Grandfather didn’t remarry when my grandmother passed away. So, he spent 21 years by himself and his maids.

    Thank you Holly!

That’s what we were hoping for, that they are now both in heaven, holding hands, and reminiscing about their youth. Whoa! A flash fiction in the making.
