Desert Mysteries

1102200920312049

Living on heat and drought,
creature and plant life – alien.
Struggling to survive in this land of doubt,
thirsty throats everywhere, yet forsaken.

The landscape betrays a traveler,
promises of lovers words.
The intensity of extreme weathers,
delude a mouthful of hordes.

Water from an oasis thread,
a last hope of fulfilling requirement.
This life given to this terrain of dread,
Breathes in dreams of enchantment.

Yet the desert buries secrets,
since ancient times kept hidden.
A madman’s paradise filled regret,
Lover’s vows renewed, but forbidden.

  1. WOW, that is deep! I really like this one, Zorlone. “A madman's paradise filled regret”. Very nice.

It seems you're posting faster than I can read…he he he…way to go, your creativity shines through more vibrantly this month. Papaano na ang sideline mong pagdo-doctor? (What would happen now to your sideline job of being a doctor?) he he he.

Doc Z, I love the last line,

    “Lover’s vows renewed, but forbidden.”

Hmmm, based from personal love experience kaya ito? Intriguing ha :D

  4. reyjr says:

I've been to a desert – well a couple if you count Nevada. Lol. I was hella hot there yikes.

An interesting thing to note about deserts is that when it rains there, everything suddenly turns green until the sun dries everything up again. Cool no?

On that, I slowed down a bit, but not because I want to stop, but because of other affairs.

  10. zorlone says:

    Hi Madz,

Oo nga ano? The words just came to me and they may be somehow related to real life experiences or maybe from too much telenovelas in the evening. LOL.

  11. zorlone says:

  20. madz says:

I never knew you wanted telenovelas, he he. I failed to ask your favorite TV show on my interview *tsk tsk*

  24. Zorlone says:

    Madz,

The desert is one of the places that, to me, is mysterious, at the same time, enchanting. My attempt at finding one here was a failure when I went to the sand dunes of the north and only saw a barb wired fence that says private property.

  25. Zorlone says:

    Reyjr.

Exactly what deserts are for. he he he. The sun and desolation.

  29. Zorlone says:

    Elmot,

Bro, this means so much because the last stanza sums the poem, although it wasn’t meant that way, but it turned out like that. LOL Okay, now I am laughing at my own style, toinks! I need to take my pills bro. The crazy side is overpowering me.
