Crossroads

I stand in the middle of a crossroads,
not knowing where to go.
My heart says South,
yet it’s my mind I’d have to follow.
The path is straight up ahead,
though, no means to cross an ocean.
A bridge is what I need to tread,
over yonder a bow heeds action.
This crossroads was here before,
tested a solemn choice that revealed.
A fair but difficult path of old ignored,
now reaping its fate of hardship in years.
An option so simple like flipping a coin,
but, is never the path to gamble with.
Choices made in haste rejoin,
blistered feelings of skin and meat.
I stand in the middle of a crossroads.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” Keeping you in mind and prayers…
Your verse is very true Mae. I definitely agree.
Pareng Jhong,
Salamat sa pagentertain sa aking bisita.

Mae,
Looks like my good friend Jhong took care of replying to comments for me. he he he.
Yes, I believe He has plans that are sometimes not too obvious, I have to look for the answers myself.
I sometimes think that I already know them, but I sometimes refuse to believe. But, now things have changed and I have found the right path for me to take.
Thank you!

I am also in the middle of a crossroads. If only I can just flip a coin to decide my fate. But I know I need to decide which path to follow. Kaya bahala na si Batman.
Ako din Amor, naghahanap na ako ng superhero ko na magbibigay ng guidance sa akin. he he he. Buti na lang at nandyan ang mga Zorlonians at mga Zorlonites. Tinulungan ako. he he he.

When in doubt, I find it useful to attack. Attack the signpost that points north or south, that is. No more issue. Are you sure it’s your heart that says you should go south? Ahahaha. Something else occurred to me, but never mind.
very intriguing jan, but never mind….Lols!
Jhong,
Intiguero?
Z
Jan,
I think I’m better off buying a compass to find my way. he he he. At least it only points to one direction.
Z
Skin and meat?!?!?
Very good!
Thanks Heather,
It sounded appropriate and unique. Well, it reminded me about going to the market and buying ingredients for supper.
Compliment appreciated.

I love the way your rhyming changes until it is no more, much like the decision you ponder. It also reminds me of Robert Frost’s ‘The Road Not Taken’ ~ my favorite poem.
I grew up with Robert Frost too, Anne. Had a hard time debating which one to take, but the adventurous me would say, take a different path.

Having dilemma lately doc? I feel your path is up north not south. hmmm….
Jhong,
If you go South, you’ll still end up North.
The world is round after all.

Off topic, alexa loves you, from a more than a million to 300 K , WOW!
Whatever you decide on, “It’s only with the heart that one can see rightly.”
We’ll be here, whatever it is. All the best.
Thanks Jena,
I know I will find my way and the path is in front of me.

This one I really like Doc. And I am not an avid fan, lol. Hmmm, flipping a coin to see…. Nah, no need for that, weekly echo bound for sure…
DiTesco,
Thank you for the the weekly echo. He he he. I guess we know what happened to the flip of the coin.

We all come across crossroads in our walk of life, and we do not always make the right decision as to what path to take. The thing to remember is that although sometimes we make the wrong choice there may still be time to turn back, as long as we do not leave it too long in making a decision.
Really great poem, the picture matches the imagery greatly.
It is so much clearer to me now.
Trust both your heart and your head, once they come to agreement.
crossroads.. a crane swooping down
over her image… the waters shivering.
