Sun blazed fury woes,
melted ice cream on pavements.
Street sweeper en route.

Quenched thirst

Vibration of drums,
reverberating echoes.
Ground, stained with the sky.

Creations

Doodling on red dirt,
letters and pictures emerged.
Abstract art on mud.

Doc Z, question…. how do you create haiku? Is there numbers of words required?

I believe Jhong, there is a required number. But definitely, it should be a 3 line poem :P

          It’s 5-7-5 syllables, Jhong, in 3 lines. :D

Then write them down. Usually, it’s about nature. But you can always write more than the textbook haiku…

Beautiful! My favorite is “Quenched thirst” and I do love the accompanying photo. I’m going to have to try this myself someday just for the fun of it. :)

              Heather,

It is fun to write a haiku. You’ll never know what it would turn out to be until the final line. That’s my experience anyway.
