An exploration of Ponce de Leon,
in search of the promise of youth.
Undying, age defying, beauty, and body,
this search for the story’s truth.

He longed to preserve a wonderland,
surrounded by magic, myth, and legends.
The water of immortality existed,
in St. Agustine where his search darkened.

But his tales drew folks of old,
their chiefs and kings explored.
The water of the land of the men with long life,
had been the match that lit stoic wars.

The water was the soul of the living gods,
that outlived all of those they ruled.
Yet their presence may never be found.
for they hid well – with their water and their jewels.

  2. A magical poem, Doc.
I’ve drunk from the Fountain of Youth at St. Augustine. Perhaps I’ll live forever?

  3. Sire says:

A magical poem indeed Doc. I loved it because it is so close to the fantasy novels that I always crave for. You could write a book around it if you so desired.

  4. Mr. Cheesy says:

The immortal gods must be keeping the water away from greedy people. Only the good ones deserve to be immortal or else, the world would be in chaos.

  5. Anne says:

I’ve been there and drank from the fountain. Nasty, nasty, nasty. Florida well water at its finest. :) Although that could account for my Peter Pan-like syndrome of never wanting to grow up. Food for thought for sure!

  6. Zorlone says:

    Holly,

I know for sure that you will live forever, as long as there is a child reading Trockle and Irma’s: Puppy Not a Guppy, you shall be immortalized.

As for myself, I am working on a way to become like you.

  7. Zorlone says:

    Sire,

That makes the two of us, I am so in to Fantasy stories and if given a chance I will make one. Well, I actually made a sci-fi novel during the nanowrimo, I just hope that I can find time to edit my work.

Thank you for the kind words.

  8. Zorlone says:

    Mr. Cheesy,

I’d rather lose immortality than to give it to the greedy.

  9. Zorlone says:

One day Anne, I will tell you that I have also drunk from the Fountain of Youth, one day I tell you. LOL

  10. Jena Isle says:

The fountain of youth is indeed a myth. The truth is it’s within us. Cheers.
