A tribute to a mentor, friend, and mother – Jena Isle
-
0911200921542205
Mother of innumerable children,
bestowed upon guidance and sacrifice.
Gifts humbly offered for the knowledge sought,
harmonious smiles brought soulful delight.
Woman of a new age with decency.
Misty morning of sunbeams’ transient view,
over boundaries of forgotten grace.
Fate of learning of a classroom’s hunger,
relied upon innate sharp mentor’s wit,
Enigmatic professor of laity.
Nights turned into day with a midnight oil,
reasons – many to favor conclusion.
Hundreds of blissful notes stacked walls – have queued,
to liberate an energetic owl.
Daylight greets the toils of the night – carefree.

Your blog looks wonderful. It was nice going through your blog. Keep it up the good work.
wow, nice work indeed. Love the words that describe to our mentor, Jena Isle. She’s a very approachable,ready to listen in our problem and even give pieces of advice to us. Very nice work Dr.Z…love love love!
Hi Dia!
Thanks for the love. I really appreciate it. I still think that my words cannot presume to describe our mentor and friend. I offer this humble poem to her.

Wow, what can I say? I’m speechless Doc Z, mmmmm…give me a moment to clear the lump in my throat ( I feel lachrymose at the moment) baka maging drama pa ang comment ko.
At long last, after almost seven months? he he he…You composed a poem for me and it’s worth the long wait.
I love this line:
“Misty morning of sunbeams’ transient view,
over boundaries of forgotten grace.”
It is an optimistic perception of a better world in spite of some ugly realities of life, because life is “transient” but with a “sunbeams’ transient view” everything would be bright.
Thank you very much for this wonderful and lilting poem. I would treasure this forever as one of the rare but precious gems in this lifetime.
All the best, and I pray for more successes and happiness for you.
a very fitting tribute for our dear friend and mentor…
and finally, a Jenanian verse from the Doctor of Poetry
great work Z!
@Roy,
Thanks! So, there are three Jenanian verses in the world. I wonder if other poets start writing this too. He he he

I cannot think of a better subject for this poem, and you have captured her essence so well.
Beautifully written as usual
Wew, another splendid creation, Doc. And perhaps fits the character of an ideal teacher. I haven’t meet Jena yet but I always have this “utmost” respect for teachers, probably the noblest of all professions.
And Yeah, I’m back, but not yet totally free to spend lots of hours online. Hehe. Too bad I missed the fun with the Jedi bloggers last week.
Hi Bloggista,
We were expecting you. Anyway, there is always a next time. See you then.
Great work Doc Z. I’m still working with my free verse. I guess, I need to be more creative with this kind of poems.
Best regards Jena and Congratz!
@Holly,
I thought of making the poem in her Jenanian verse and yes, she is the best subject for this poem.

@Robin,
Thanks!

@Bloggista,
Hey! Yeah, this is a unique creation. There are only three poems written this way in the whole world.
Will look forward to see you more active with your blogs and to our next “meeting.”
Z
@Jhong,
Just keep on writing. My style is to keep every thought about a subject then edit. Edit. Edit. — maybe edit some more until I am satisfied with it.

I think it’s great that someone means that much to you that you honor her with a poem, in such a unique style no less. I like it!
Anne,
Yes, that’s exactly that. Some people are worth the honor. Thank you for liking it.
