Nimble , tiny fingers grasp my hand  uncertainly.
Logorrhea at its worst , meandering  with no destination.
But slowly, measured steps prosper into leaps of certainty.
The wondrous  discovery  mirrors  the joy of  the jeweled sky.

The initiation begins with the roll of thunder,
Unrelenting  – the grass glistening with sweat and tears.
You stood  – a Grecian god, dignified and untarnished,
By the venomous words they spewed and smeared you with.

The cerulean  horizon  is peppered  with pristine clouds
Your wings weary but  fluttering  triumphantly  adrift  the loft.
The  woven silken thread of  words abound anew,
dancing gracefully in the  magic tips of  your  innovative fingers .

The  steady  staccato of ebony keys echoed in the distance.
Your taps deliberate and winging with enthusiasm
The curtain fell amidst the deafening  approval and applause.
You  smiled at me amidst the rhapsody of your creative genius.

    Hello Doc Z,

Thanks for featuring me in your prestigious blog. It is an honor. You’ve come a long way in just barely 7 months of blogging and I’m so proud of you. Your significant contribution to the blogging world makes me glad we’ve met at the appointed time – call it serendipity.
And in spite of all these, you remained humble and amiable.

Anak, I wish you more successes in all of your future endeavors. All the best.

I had read a lot of positive comments about Jena. And if she is that caring with her co-bloggers, then, she is definitely more wonderful to her children, I bet. :)

Hays – only a mother’s love can be this overflowing. Suddenly I miss my mother whose bejeweled poetry was in her embrace and caress. If only memories have enough wattage to keep me warm.

Sayang Madz. Bat ngayon ka lang nagpakita. Papakilala sana kita sa bugtong na anak ni Jen. Ahehehe.

Wow, very touching. I think this is the greatest achievement and joy any mother and parent will always treasure.

I remember watching my babies discover fingers, toes, and the emotive power their grasp had on me.

“Logorrhea at its worst”? LOL – my mother used to say, of Katie, “Oh, you want her to learn to talk, NOW, but give it a few years – you’ll wish you could PAY someone to listen!”

I wonder why such “initiations” can lead to bonding? It never worked for me, though it seems a tried and true technique in fraternities and the military. Me, I just disengage; I feel no loyalty to bullies.

So, another thing we have in common? Our children are musicians? Music, writing – it’s all the language of creation, and a way of touching each others’ souls.

I love this poem, Jen. I’ll have to look and see if I can find two I wrote for Katie years ago. I think you might enjoy those, too. We’re half a world apart, but keep finding so much common ground.

May I ask permission to reply,Doc Z? Roy, thanks. If you only knew how many revisions I’ve done to portray what I really feel…I prefer short stories.

Jan, she is always there for you naman. You might not see her but she’s there, I’m sure. Oo nga, sana si Madz…Bakit naman bugtong na anak?

Elmot, I’m glad you liked the last two lines, those are my favorite lines too. You’re a superb poet yourself.

Holly, you’ve honored me with your presence. All of you guys of course, but having a mother read this too is a joy. I know you perfectly understand what I mean. Our child’s success is ours too.

All the best guys. I hope the good doctor would be well enough soon to comment back. Cheers!

                              Jen,

I couldn't think of any other time for us to have met as perfect a timing as when we did seven months ago at MyLot. My writing has matured if not from your guidance. I am overwhelmed by your message and quite frankly, I fumbled with the words to say to you.

                              My sincerest thank you.

I just happened to read your poem. One of the finest way of expressing the real life experience of a mother with his son. The vocabulary is outstanding and the sequencing is superb.

I wish I am able to read your all the articles.

                                Please keep writing.

                                With best wishes,

Jen is indeed a very prolific writer. She can write about anything, but she writes best with her heart. This is just a small example of her creativity expressed to the fullest.

Thank you for the wonderful comment.

                                        Hi Jena,
You’re very gifted. Not only with literary words and academic intelligence, but with enormous motherly love and instincts. You’ve raised your children alone. Yet they all turned out wonderfully–as adult children you can be proud of. That’s a great achievement every parent would like to achieve.

                                        It’s a brilliantly written poem.
